Tired Tired

Sydney has been pretty sick the last few days, and taken a nap or two every day. Today we were all hanging out in my room, and Dave was super super cranky. So I asked for a vote on who thought David should take a nap. Everyone but Dave said yes. Dave and I went in the kitchen to check on some bread I was making, and when I came back in this is what I saw. David never did get a nap, but Sydney and John did.

Science Class

Sydney is fascinated by science, especially the solar system. Well, my knowledge is all a bit rusty, so I send her to her dad. They love to talk about it all, and look in our "Atlas of the Universe." They are just so cute together!

Happy Easter

Okay so I'm slow, but here are some Easter pictures. We did an egg hunt on Friday, baskets on Saturday, and on Sunday I spoke in sacrament (scary) and then we went to the John's parents house for dinner. I cooked a ham for the first time and it was actually really good. It was a good weekend, and I am so grateful for my Savior and his atonement. I know that it is a real power, and one for which I am eternally grateful for! Most of all I'm grateful for the resurrection and that I can be with my family forever.

Happy St. Patricks Day!!

The leprechauns came to our house and left shamrocks and gold coins all over. It was quite the hunt to find them all. John and Dave put them all over themselves when they found them. We ate a dinner of green fetticine alfredo, green salad, peas, broccoli (Sydney's request), green punch. We had a lesson on Easter for FHE, then played red light GREEN light, and played colored eggs (in honor of Easter). Our treat was green jello (minus shredded carrots). It was a great day, I hope you all had fun on St. Patricks as well!

Kite Flying

Today was great kite flying weather. The kids had a great time, and both did really well at keeping their kites up!

Making Bread

We decided to try to make our bread today (without a bread maker). We were using some wheat my grandma has at our house that was kind of old, so we needed to sort it out before we ground it into flour. The kids thought it was a great project, so Dave would scoop up the wheat onto a cookie sheet that John would look through. Then he would pass on the good stuff to Sydney. I took it from Sydney and put it in the wheat grinder. It was a lot more fun than it would have been without their help! The bread is still rising, I'll let you know how it turns out!

Mail Call

Just a begging post. Sydney loves mail. We get our mail at the post office and she's crushed when she doesn't get mail. So, if you are feeling really nice in the future, please mail her a picture or card. Or even better, if you have a kid that wants a pen pal, she will write back!

Elizabeth

So I took this quiz off of Gena's website. The description is quite a bit off, but seeing as I love Jane Austin, and 'Pride and Prejudice' is my favorite book it works. This is my description "You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed."

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

Take the Quiz here!

Some people never learn

So one day Dave colored all over himself. I had just told John the day before how much better he was doing at only coloring on paper. Apparently I forgot to knock on wood. Anyway, so I found him covered in blue. Yes I was blogging at the time he did it. The very next day, I found him covered in red. Hmmm, maybe I didn't learn my lesson. Today it was on the counter, but not on him. I'm not sure if it's improvment.

It's a good day

Just wanted to share: There is a website http://www.itsagoodday.org/ It is like a "PG YouTube" they post videos that are clean. If you get a minute check it out. This is a small scale project for now, it was just started by a bishop in our stake, but has some good things. Anyway there is a movie on the bottom called To a Child Love is Spelled T-I-M-E It brought tears to our eyes. Good reminder for all of us.

Warm weather!

We are loving the better weather! Of course, it snowed again yesterday, but we went to the park everyday last week! Dave was sure he still needed his hat and gloves, but paired with sunglasses. Lots of games of hopscotch in the back yard too!
