Camping

Camping is by far our favorite summer activity. The kids love it, and it is so relaxing! John's teaching schedule works well and we spend a lot of time up on the Nebo loop in the summer!

Piggy Bank contest

The extension center here had a free dinner and movie night to promote Utah Saves week, so we went as a family. They had a homemade piggybank contest. Sydney and I made some piggy banks. Dave helped on ours each a little before he got bored and went and played with his trucks. Anyway, we won a couple of games for prizes. Sydney was so excited that she won the contest! There will be a picture in the Nephi paper, she's very excited to see herself in the paper. As for me, I let Dave stand in for me in the picture.

Zucchini Boats

One day with our friends, the Maughans, we made zucchini boats. We took really big zucchini's and scraped them out like pumpkins and raced them down the irrigation ditch. The kids had a blast, and I had a pretty good time myself! Don't look to closely at the picture with me in it though, I hadn't showered that morning and I was in pajamas. I didn't really think there was a need to dress up to go to the ditch!

Sydney and Jill

Sydney's cousin Jill moved to Illinois last year, and Sydney has been sad without her around. They are 6 months apart, and it is fun to see them when they are together. We were lucky enough to be able to fly out there this summer and see them, and they have come back to visit. Sydney prays for Uncle Mike's job to move back to Utah, and I say Amen to that!

"Gingerbread Houses"

Well, we told the kids they were gingerbread houses. Really we used graham crackers (we're lazy). The kids had fun though. Dave and I made a train, and Sydney and John made a house. I'm pretty sure Dave ate more candy than we got on the train, but oh well!

Dress up

Sydney created these outfits for her and Dave. They looked quite attractive I must say. They did a great "show" for us, and made me laught all night! Sydney has quite the imagination. As I write this she is in a box, "sailing on the sea" with her dolls. Dave is raiding our junk drawer for change, and shoving it in his pockets. Never a dull moment with them around!
